Alex is an Associate and West Coast director of Re:Vision Architecture, a deep green architecture and sustainability consulting practice with offices in Philadelphia, PA and Berkeley, CA. Alex became passionate about green buildings while working with Sim Van der Ryn, one of the forefathers of the ecological design movement, and later spent several years at Re:Vision in Philadelphia in order to re-connect and deepen this side of her professional practice architecture.
Today, Alex is a key member of Re:Vision, leading the California office and tracking best practices between the east coast and west coast offices. As an architect, Alex appreciates the full life-cycle of a design project and closely follows projects through construction and operations, where she believes you learn what you have done right and what can be improved in the future. Alex's notable projects include a new headquarters and community foundation center, living buildings for an environmental education center, a green grocery co-op, and various LEED consulting projects for various building types. When not at work, Alex can usually be found cooking, eating and writing about locally sourced food, on her bike or walking her dog.
